The Co-ordinating Group of Our Shared World helps the movement talk and act together.
The Co-ordinating Group meets regularly to check in about what’s happening across Our Shared World, and join-up our plans. We connect the projects that other OSW groups lead on such as events, advocacy and research, and work out the best timelines. It’s a horizontal organising model, meaning that the Co-ordinating group takes its lead from the other four working group co-chairs and others active across the coalition.
It’s been great facilitating sharing across such a diverse movement, bringing together ‘big thought’ with ‘big energy’. We’ve sourced funding to help grow the Our Shared World movement, shared learning about the purpose of education and organized coalition events for our hundreds of members. The group also liaises with the wider international movement for SDG 4.7, staying alert to opportunities to further our goals.
”The fabulous thing about Our Shared World is that co-ordination doesn’t mean directing members to action – everyone is already active. We just try to seize on connections and opportunities to!Ellis BrooksPeace Education Coordinator, Quakers in Britain
