Welcome to Our Shared World, which brings together a large network of actors seeking to support the successful realisation of SDG 4.7 (Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship) across England by 2030, equipping our society to create a more sustainable, fairer, peaceful and resilient world.

If you would like to stay up to date with what is going on with Our Shared World activities through either the working groups or the Our Shared World Reference Group, we need to collect and store some information about you. This privacy notice explains why, and what we do with your data.

What type of personal information is collected?

Our Shared World has collated an email database of organisations and individuals interested in being a part of supporting the successful implementation of SDG4.7 in England. Please be aware that management of this email database may also be via the Our Shared World co-chairs – SEEd (Sustainability and Environmental Education) and CoDEC (Consortium of Development Education Centres). Co-chairs have oversight of all Our Shared World working groups and activities for coordination purposes.

As a member of the Our Shared World network of professionals the coalition will collect your name, organisation, role and contact details including your email address and sometimes phone number and/or skype details. Please do let us know now or at any time in the future if you no longer wish to receive any communication.

Why is this personal data being collected?

We need this personal data to contact you to share updates on Our Shared World activities. This includes sending email updates, inviting you to participate in meetings, comment on strategic and public documents, and to give you the option to sign up to specific actions or activities. All communication over email will be related to Our Shared World.

Information about you has been or will be collected using the following methods:

  • Your contact information has been collected by Our Shared World through the Global Learning Network email list or meetings, or through Our Shared World meetings.
  • Additional contact information will be collected at future Our Shared World Meetings or coalition events by Our Shared World co-chairs. It may also be collected on an individual basis through other contacts within the Our Shared World coalition.

How will the information be used?

All the information you give us will be stored securely in Our Shared World co-chair IT systems. We will review this notice in March 2024, or when new Our Shared World co-chairs are elected, whichever is soonest.

If Our Shared World co-chairs no longer need personal information for the original purpose for which it was collected we will delete/destroy it in accordance with our data destruction procedures unless we have a legal obligation to retain personal information for a certain period.

This personal information will not be used for unsolicited newsletters or direct marketing.

Will Our Shared World share my information with anyone else?

Your data will be shared with members of the Education Team at relevant SEEd and CoDEC members to contact you in relation to Our Shared World activities.

How can I see what information you have about me?

If you have any further questions or comments concerning your privacy, wish to access your personal data held about you, delete, or update information we hold about you, please contact the one of the Our Shared World co-chairs at:
