Our Shared World were lucky enough to bring the OSW members a revolutionary Learning Lunch, led by the eminent campaigner and writer on sustainable development, Sir Jonathon Porritt.
Jonathon, a long time environmentalist and campaigner, discussed with us his insights into campaigning and advocacy for change and working with government during his years as Chair of the Sustainable Development Commission. He pondered the question ‘What needs to change in the education system beyond the ‘curriculum’?’
Jonathon’s latest book ‘Hope in Hell’ ends with ‘I can see no alternative but to build a global movement in which more radical campaigning, including mass civil disobedience, will play a crucial part‘. OSW members were asked to discuss their views on the question: Should education today be reformist or revolutionary?
